It is an honour and privilege to be the Head of the Schools and Principal of AGS, the school that stands for excellence and continuously sets the highest standards. I am also proud to work with a young and dynamic Director, Mrs. Prachi Dhaval Ajmera. The school is not new to me. Being a professional psychologist, I started my journey as a counsellor moved on to become the Executive Coordinator and now the Head of the schools. This period has been a journey of great learning for me. It is said that one who dares to teach must never cease to learn. I have learnt not only from my colleagues but also from my students and parents through continuous interaction.The importance of education in the life of an individual cannot be overstated. It shapes individuals in their formative years and imbues them with values that would govern all their choices in life. It is said that if you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people. Indeed, one can say that the quality of education will determine the destiny of the nation.Education for me does not mean providing answers but it means equipping the students with the means to find the answers for themselves and within themselves. Education empowers the students to discover themselves, who they are as people. Within each student is a doctor or an engineer or a teacher or a social activist or an environmentalist or a poet or an author or an economist etc. At AGS, teachers use education as a tool to discover those hidden potentials and help the students to find the pathway to success, keeping alive the motto of Nurturing Compassionate Learners.
Over the years in this school, I have witnessed in the students’ incomparable skills of thinking out of the box, vibrant dynamism and unparalleled knowledge base about the world around them, a focused ambition and a sustained commitment. I am also fortunate to have the most dedicated experimental and committed team which has brought the school to this level. I along with my team of versatile persistent faculty intend to build on this strong foundation and raise the standards of AGS in all the spheres. My aim in not only to be an able administrator but also to be an approachable friend, philosopher and guide to my students on whom they can count on and trust at all times. I assure that my doors will always be open to the students and their parents for all their suggestions and guidance. In this dynamic world of today, the best way to succeed in our task is to adapt to changes and work hard systematically with clear vision, honesty and transparency. At AGS, our prime objective is the overall development of the students. The fast eroding values and lack of respect from elders is a burning issue. So ,we guide our students to think global but act local…….
